Bio
I am a singer/guitarist based in Morris County New Jersey. I primarily play acoustic guitar versions of current and classic rock favorites with plenty of jazz, blues, country and r&b thrown in for good measure. My early playing experience was as an electric rock and blues guitarist. Played in many bands throughout High School and College. After returning to Morris County following college in the mid-80's I formed Sound on Sound with my brother Paul on drums, Mark D'Amico on bass and Bill Majersack on vocals, percussion, harmonica and harmonious saxophony. Ricky Egidio(rip)was our Soundman (LTD) and we practiced in his basement. We had much fun during this period. Many of our friends helped out moving equipment and making sure our gigs were always on the verge of disaster. We played at the Quarry(rip), the Marcella Pub(rip) Fuerstien's(rip) and the Showplace. In 1989 Paully decided to hang up his sticks. Billy moved to the drum chair, I became the frontman and we added Sue Collins on harmonica, tenor sax and rhythm guitar. Special Delivery was born. We played alot more blues. Had a steady Saturday night gig at Franco's Pizza in Dover. Sometimes when business was slow Franco payed us in beer and pizza. The steady gig payed off later when we got some good gigs in New Hope, PA, as well as closer to home. Special Delivery disbanded in 1991. It was around this time I began to do my first concentrated solo acoustic work. For the next two years I played 3 to 4 nights a week at places like Smith's Tavern, Mill Lane, Adam's Beer Garden to name a few. During this period I met Paul Miller. We formed an acoustic duo called Rock-away. We did some gigs at RD's in Wharton, the Telemark Tavern and a few other places. A chance acoustic jam at one of my gigs at the Mill Lane led to my next band, Rough Mix. RM featured Adam Jacobs on guitar and vocals, Pat (the toe) Skelly on the drums and Mark D'Amico on bass. Mark left after one year to be replaced by Glen. We played all over Morris and Sussex counties. Mostly classic rock. Learned alot from these guys and definitely did my best electric playing with them. Pat moved to California and that was that. Next, I formed Pat and the Poorboys playing mostly r&b and oldies. Demands of work and family caught up to me in 1995. 1995 to 2001 I gigged very rarely. A few 3 piece gigs with old bandmates here and there was about it. Began playing solo acoustic in 2001 when I discovered the Boss Loop Station which allows me to sample my rhythm guitar and play lead over top. This certainly has made the solo gigs alot more fun. I've also done some duo and trio stuff with various folks most notably the acoustic trio 3 of a Kind with Paul Miller and Karen Kinsley. In the Spring of 2009, after over a decade of playing strictly acoustic guitar, I dusted off my old stratocaster to play a benefit gig with some friends of mine. We had so much fun and got such good response we decided to give it a go, and Bobblehead was born. We got gigs right away and gigged steadily for about 2 years. Now I'm back to the acoustic doing solo gigs during the week and duos on the weekends with the amazingly talented Karen Kinsley LeGore.
